Schools' out for Summer Blog Hop Day TWO

Hey welcome to the School’s Out for Summer Blog Hop
Well schools out for little ones but not for me. Instead they put my school on the fast track for college. We get the same credits in half the time so summer term starts in 3 weeks.
But any who. You should have arrived here from Cicily’s blog. If not you should start over at Katina’s blog to hop from the beginning.

For Todays card I made a card for a new first year teacher.
Remember that kid in school who always had the homework they turned in with stains and smears. Sometimes they just shoved it in to their backpack. Well I tried to make a very worn old piece of homework.
I made a very pretty card with this old dirty homework on it. Hehe
The base is a portrait style easel card.
For the layers I used DCWV Latte mat stack.
I used some tulle from the wedding section to make a big pretty bow.
I used the My Creative Time’s tiny tags and greeting for the congratulations you did it.
I tied it on with a piece of my favorite thing Jute!!

Last but not least that CUTE worn old homework.
I used the simply charmed Cricut cartridge.
I only cut the layer.
I hit the face on the cut. I sized it at 3.5”
Now to make it old and worn..
I used vintage photo distress ink and inked it all up, then I crumbled it up, then I inked again, then I sprayed with water, and dried it with my heat gun. (hey isn’t that what distress inks are actually for)
I used My teacher rocks for the other two sentiments from My Creative Time.

Head on over to Anna’s blog next

  1. I had to laugh at your card ... was thinking about the time when a classmate brought her puppy to school with her and sat the dog on the teacher's lap. "The dog ate my homework. Mom said you'll have to wait for it to come out."

    Ewwwwww. LOL. Happy summer!

  5. Jessi, that's so cool what you did with the homework! HeHeHe. I love it! :):):) I never in a million years would've thought to try something like that -- Even know that distress ink is supposed to make things look all old and weathered.

    Thanks so much for sharing!
